“Throughout my research, I discovered just how popular, funny, personal and utterly relatable mums can be when you look at them through the lenses of the kids who wear them.” “While the mum is a stunning visual in and of itself, it’s the community engagement aspect that really makes it come to life,” Amy says. ![]() Based on Amy’s own research, the exhibit takes a look at the 100-year tradition of mums and how they came to be a popular homecoming staple in Texas. 14, “Mumentous: Football, Glue Guns, Moms And A Super-Sized High School Tradition Born Deep In The Heart Of Texas” is a new exhibit presented by the Grapevine Convention and Visitors Bureau, the Texas Lakes Trail Region and author and photographer Amy J. They went above and beyond to make sure that one bad night didn’t ruin our family experience.“Mum” is the word at Grapevine’s newest historical exhibit celebrating one of Texas’ biggest icons. I have never seen such amazing customer service and I’ve been to a LOT of similar places and also worked in the industry several years. They both separately brought my daughter gifts for her birthday and vouchers for lodge food/activities and hand delivered them to our hotel room. They were horrified and extremely apologetic of how we were treated. Within ten minutes of my text I had the guest supervisor DJ and the restaurant manager Justice on my phone asking for details of what had occurred. I received a text from the GM asking how everything was going and ended up just sending him a minor complaint about the restaurant from that evening. On my daughters birthday night we ate at the sit down lodge restaurant and had a pretty disappointing experience that left my family extremely upset with the food, our server, and the expense. We ate at the property and used our dining package for many meals which I highly recommend purchasing because you spend well over the credits you’re given. We were greeted by every staff member we ran into. The activities throughout the resort for the kids were fantastic and there was always something for them to do. It was definitely worth the money! The water park is extremely clean and well run with minimal lines during this time of year. We paid quite a bit for everything with the room, water park, restaurants, etc all adding up. We stayed at GWL in February for my daughters third birthday. Was awesome enjoying a waterpark when the temperature outside was in the forties. Not sure if the heat of the spa coupled with the chlorination levels made the spa area much much worse but just be careful. After a few hours, we had mainly stopped coughing but not completely until the next day. They even offered to send someone to our room to check on her which I thought was extremely thoughtful of them. Regardless, as we were leaving, one of the attendants asked my daughter if she wanted some cold water and that seemed to help a bit. The strange thing was that there were people who were not having coughing attacks that were still in the spa so not sure why we were affected. Luckily, we hadn’t tried out the spa until the very end. Then, I suddenly started coughing and then my kids started coughing so I’m like, we have to get out of here. I was there for about five minutes and then I called over my kids to join me for a bit. ![]() Park was about to close so I decided to check out the heated spa. Okay, regarding the chlorination levels, for the most part, we all didn’t have an issue with it until the last two hours that we were in the waterpark. Also, we did think that the breakfast buffet was also good. The following night we had pizza which was good. I would argue that Golden Corral is so much better in terms of quality than the food that was served here. Many reviewers likened it to a Golden Corral. For the price and the location of this restaurant, I was extremely disappointed that the food was this bad. Everyone who took a bite, couldn’t eat the rest of the chicken. The corn on the cob was especially terrible and there was a chicken and rice dish where the chicken was extremely dry. First, on our first night, we decided to try the dinner buffet. The only two things I really disliked dealt with the dinner buffet and the spa chlorination levels. Overall, my kids really enjoyed staying here.
